Responsibility for links
Through a judgement on 12. Mai 1998 "Haftung für Links (Responsibility for links)" (312 O 85/98) the district courts in Hamburg have decided quite clearly that a person who publishes a link is responsible for the content of that link and therefore may be held accountable for it. This can only be prevented by a statement clearly distancing that person from the content of that link.
"The editors hereby distance themselves from the content of all internet sites which have been linked to this site and state that they have no influence over the content and organisation of these sites, nor does the content have any effect on their own activities."
